Same trailhead as Mt. Shavano. Most hikers combine both peaks. High clearance strongly recommended.

Route Description

Most commonly climbed with Mt. Shavano. From Shavano's summit, descend to the saddle and follow the exposed but manageable ridge to Tabeguache. The traverse involves Class 2 scrambling with some exposure. Can be climbed directly via McCoy Creek for a Tabeguache-only day.

Gear & Preparation

The ridge traverse requires comfort with exposure. Conditions can change quickly - monitor weather closely. Bring plenty of water for this long day.
