Marked trailhead on CO 82, 14.6 miles west of Leadville. Easy highway access. Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.

Route Description

The route climbs through La Plata Gulch before ascending the northwest ridge to the summit. Well-defined trail through forest gives way to alpine tundra and moderate Class 2 terrain near the top. The summit views are excellent.

Gear & Preparation

Steep sections near the summit require careful footing. The road to the trailhead crosses private property - stay on the road.
